NRA Personal Protection Outside the Home (PPOTH) Course $150
NRA Personal Protection Outside the Home (PPOTH) Course is an intermediate level shooting course on how to use a firearm for self-defense and requires students to have already mastered safe gun handling and basic marksmanship skills prior to attending the course.
This course is NOT a basic shooting course and requires advanced shooting skills.
The NRA Basics of Personal Protection Outside the Home Course introduces students to the knowledge, skills, and attitude involved in safely, responsibly, and effectively employing a concealed pistol for self-defense. This is an intensive course, as the student must learn and practice many diverse shooting skills to respond quickly and appropriately to the broad range of threats he or she may encounter
outside the home. After the classroom portion, students should
expect to spend several hours on the range and shoot approximately 100 rounds of ammunition during level one.
COST: $150 includes range fees and all materials.
CLASS LEGNTH: 10 hours including a one-hour break for lunch.

PARTICIPANT EQUIPMENT REQUIRED:
Firearm: Any caliber double-action revolver or single
action/double-action semi-auto pistol. AR-15 type pistols are not allowed in class. Your gun must be in good working order.
Equipment: A holster designed for the pistol brought to the class.
speed loaders or magazines, and speed loader or magazine pouches, concealed carry clothing (jacket, Sport Coat, or Vest), knee pads, and pistol owner’s manual
Ammo: 100 cartridges minimum required. PLEASE LEAVE AMMO IN CAR IT CAN NOT COME INTO THE CLASSROOM.
Protection: Prescription glasses, sun or shooting glasses are required, along with hearing protection.
Class Duration: 9 hours including one hour lunch.
PREREQUISITES: NRA PPOTH is for law-abiding adult citizens, as defined by applicable federal, state, or local law, and experienced shooters (shooters able to show mastery of the basic skills of safe gun handling, shooting a group, zeroing the firearm, and cleaning the
firearm) to maximize what can be learned from this course. Must have attended the NRA Basics of Personal Protection in The Home Course.
